Breaking News: Mike Vick Spotted in South Philadelphia CVS Buying Dog Food

mikevick Style Points takes a turn for the serious for this story, as I have just received a text message from a friend who works at a South Philadelphia CVS saying that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who often frequents the local establishment, came in asking for the location of the store’s dog food. He proceeded to purchase a bag and leave.

Says my friend’s Facebook status:

Mike Vick came in CVS again, asking me where our dog food was, I almost laughed in his face.

The irony of this situation astounds me. Questions also arise. Why would Michael Vick still be housing dogs after everything we know he’s been through? Granted, he could be buying the food as a favor for a friend. Interestingly enough, Vick sat down to do this interview with ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio where he discusses how he had to explain to his daughter, who was inquiring about getting a dog, why the family couldn’t get a pet at this time. Says Vick:

My daughter is on me everyday, she wants a dog. She asks ‘Daddy I want a dog’ and I say,  ”Well we can’t get one right now.” “Why?” And I got to go into detail about why, and she has an inquiring mind and she just asks a million questions and I have to make sure I explain to her in detail you know what really happened so she can understand because it’s something they’ll hear about for a long time because I’m their father.

You can find the exact quote of this anecdote at 4:09. Though it seems to many that Michael Vick has assimilated successfully back into society, wouldn’t it seem wise to stay away from anything involving dogs? Maybe his daughter convinced him otherwise.
